Young's Seafood Limited
Young's new 'Free From' fish fingers are widely available in British supermarkets
July 14th 2009
FIRST BRANDED GLUTEN FREE FISH FINGER

Young’s Seafood has launched the UK's first branded ‘free from’ product – a special variant of its fish finger range. Within just a few weeks of launch, Young's gluten free fish fingers are already proving a big hit.

Designed to cater for mums and the specialist diet market, Young’s Free From Fish Fingers are made with 100% fish fillet and are coated in a special crumb which is wheat, gluten and dairy free. As with Young’s wider fish finger range, these fingers are also free from artificial colours or flavours and are a natural source of Omega3.

Charlotte Broughton, who is marketing controller for Young’s coated products, says, “We identified a clear opportunity for this type of product earlier this year, and the response so far has been amazing - both in terms of sales and dozens of positive calls from people to our Careline. To date, such products have been poorly represented in the frozen cabinet but given this feedback it seems there is certainly demand and we’ll be considering other opportunities for ‘Free From’ within our wider range going forward.”

Young’s Free From Fish Fingers are available in 300g packs of ten fingers, RRP. £1.79. They are already listed in Morrisons, Tesco and Asda with further listings expected from September.
