Young’s Seafood has once again committed to being main sponsor of Grimsby Town Football Club, with the famous fish company’s logo appearing on Town’s new strip – which was unveiled this week.
The 2008/9 season will be the fifth consecutive year in which Young’s Seafood has been Grimsby Town’s main sponsor - and the partnership goes from strength to strength.
Dave Roberts, who as Young’s commercial finance director (and a life long Mariner’s fan) manages the sponsorship says,
“As the town’s largest private employer and with our roots firmly set in Grimsby the sponsorship of the local football team is a great way of demonstrating our support of the local community. As with most towns and cities, we feel that Grimsby’s football club lies at the very heart of the community – as was amply demonstrated by the support for this season’s fabulous trip to Wembley.”
“After we took over the Club sponsorship at short notice from Jarvis in 2004 the relationship has really blossomed. Although our primary motivation for continuing to support Grimsby Town is not coverage, we are delighted that there have been several notable occasions during the past four seasons when the team has come up with the goods and given us massive national exposure - such as the Tottenham and Newcastle games and visits to the Millennium Stadium and the new Wembley.”
Dave Roberts continues, “We hope that we can have more success next season and hopefully a promotion to go with it! But whatever happens we are very pleased with the ongoing relationship and see it as a long term partnership not a short term opportunity. We look forward to many more years of involvement and wish the Club the very best of luck for the coming season and with their ambitions for the new stadium.”
Ends…
